So, a couple things. First, I've got to apologize for the lack of communication and rushing through one day and dragging on the next. It got us into the little mess we're in at present.
With transitioning to a new school year at a new school in a new subject area all while also coaching/travelling for tennis, I got busier than I had anticipated. Could I have and should I have just simply posted something on the boards? Yes, but one day to the next was so jam-packed, I would simply come home and just want to be completely disconnected.
Secondly, I could've sworn I had announced that I was going to run the first 3 days of FA on that Friday. Turns out I must've done this on the shoutbox and it got swallowed up or I simply had intended to and then actually didn't. At any rate, when I saw that 20 or so teams had sent in bids, I assumed everything was good to go when I simmed days 1-3. Then enter the busy period during which I admit I didn't check back in to the boards and see if anything was amiss.
To catch up, I hurried through the next sim (confusing LAL's FA bids with LAC's along the way) and did the same on the third one, so we could hopefully get things ready to roll and not look back.
Back to what I would propose: we could drop certain guys back into Free Agency and run one final FA sim.
Here are the ones I think could/should be and the reasons why:
- Mike Bibby (Hornets were not award of start of FA and only 2 teams bid on him anyways - DET, LAL)
- Marcus Camby (Hornets above AND Heat only got him because I messed up and put a 4 year bid instead of his 2 year, no guarantee he would've accepted the 2-year)
- Zach Randolph (Thunder were being run by Raptors)
- Tyson Chandler (idem)
I don't think Tony Parker should be added back (as much as I hate to say it haha), Parker didn't sign with Portland because OKC's cap space was shot and at least 8 other teams offered a max contract. He became only the 2nd or 3rd guy to not take the max bird rights and sign elsewhere (I have the screenshot to confirm): "You have offered me a 5-year, $55... The Trailblazers currently have the best offer... I want to play for the better team."
NOW, having said that, several teams would probably want to bid on those guys but now cannot because of cap issues that occurred after these guys signed elsewhere. We have a couple options:
- I could dump enough players from bidding teams to allow the bids to go through and then add those guys back if they don't sign
- We could start a thread to freely release guys that were signed (and either allow all teams to bid on these guys too or run one final FA sim after this one)
Feel free to discuss and/or vote on poll.
