I don't know, this to me looks like fun and something new.
When you play FBB for several (and I mean SEVERAL) years the idea of reboot itself sounds a bit dry and "meh".

If you want to curb teams tanking 5-6-7 seasons in a row, punish them directly but I will never support a pre-determined draft like that. Ever.

Many leagues I’ve heard of / been in force teams to make the playoffs once every 3-4 years to avoid punishments. It’s easier to enforce when you have a waiting list though lol

Think there's a better way to combat tanking.

An idea to think about:
Removing bird rights. In other words - no more 5 year max deals during Free Agency. Player gets to choose where to go, everyone gets a chance at a superstar.
Would make FA much more unpredictable and would potentially re-shape the league within each summer. Loyalty, Greed, Winning ratings would come into play.

Would make FA much more unpredictable and would potentially re-shape the league within each summer. Loyalty, Greed, Winning ratings would come into play. I don't like it. If I didn't have Bird Rights to my drafted players, I would lose them every year. If you're picking in the lower half of the lottery like I do, those guys don't have their breakout season until their 4th and final year of their rookie deal. You will see discouraged GMs drop like flies out of the league. Plus this would only incentivize tanking and quick fixes as a team can potentially add Steph Curry from the draft AND have a chance at an emerging superstar with no strings attached.

If you really wanted to curb tanking, you would do away with real-life draft classes so the tankers can't position themselves to draft the next LeBron or Dwight. Of course, the league would be a lot less interesting with generic names re-shaping the league, so I'm not advocating for it, but just saying that'll curb the predictability of tanking.

What is wrong with the league running just like it has been?

Sometimes it's nice to toss around different ideas, you never know what might end up resonating well with the league.

I wouldn't be a fan of drafting Yao Hunter in 2033...

What is wrong with the league running just like it has been? Nothing wrong, I was just spitballing and really thinking about what might happen when we catch up to RL again in a year or so. We seem to have a pretty high activity rate and that's a great thing, but if there are ways to make it better, might as well check the temperature of the league from time to time.

Agreed. It was a rhetorical question.
